In 2019, Indian Govt stated that 6.7% of its population is below the official poverty line. That is a significant improvement from 12.4% in 2012 or More than 80 million people were lifted out of poverty line in seven years thanks to the efforts of individuals and NGOs dedicated to education along with stellar efforts of the Government. This is a living testimonials to those who believed that:
"Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to them who prepare for it today."
COVID-19 has shown that most affected by this pandemic are those at the bottom of the pyramid and we must leverage the wide-spread awareness and desire to collaborate with each other. With this goal, WHEELS is proud to present some NGOs led by visionaries and their lots of love in our webinar to reach out to those viewing discussions that you too can make a difference.
The session will be chaired by Prof Kannan Mudgalya of IIT-Mumbai and developer of Spoken Tutorials -- a technology tool that can make teach in major languages while standard content in English are displayed on the computer screen. This is how WHEELS is accelerating communication of best practices in multilingual society and can collaborate for access to education in local languages.
Objective of the Webinar:
1. Describe how the project got initiated and how did you meet the challenges.
2. What are unique success factors that enabled you to expand.?
3. What are the lessons learnt from COVID-19 pandemic ?
4. How do you think you can collaborate with other NGOs on the panel and WHEELS to leverage the opportunities in Post Covid India?
