    Respected Sir / Madam

    Respectful Greetings from ATSWA Trust

Sub: support required to improve educational standards of the Children of our residential Child care homes in Andhra Pradesh regarding.

We take this opportunity to introduce ourselves as a duly registered NGO in the state of Tamilnadu with the registration number of 465/2005
ATSWA is an organization with a secular and humanitarian outlook and led by principles of social service. It has been in service to the poor and downtrodden for the past 17 years serving downtrodden poor, the marginalized, Children & women, the Disabled people, poor commercial sex workers, and those affected with HIV / AIDS through a variety of services.

We run a full-fledged residential home for 150 children (75boys and 75 girls) who are very poor and orphaned at Dasukuppam in chittoor District but very close to Uthukottai in Tamilnadu. We also have another home for 60 HIV infected and affected girls little farther at Madanambedu Village in Sathyavedu Mandal. In addition to this we serve 40 HIV positive boys who live in the community. In all we serve nearly 280 children who are very poor and from trying backgrounds We primarily work in Eastern Chittoor District in Andhra Pradesh and in North Tamil Nadu that borders Andhra Pradesh and reach out to any area where need arises at any time.

Education support – teacher, materials, projector etc.

One of the things that we are very concerned about is the education of the children who are under our care. We send them to the nearby schools at Uthukottai in Tamilnadu, Dasukuppam and at Madanambedu in Andhra Pradesh which are Government schools the quality of education provided in the far flung government schools is not very satisfactory as they are in the remote parts of the districts. With no real commitment and dedication, education imparted is not what it was years or generations ago. We try to supplement the learning at the homes with some tuition as an after school measure to improve the learning the children have made at school whatever that was.

Though our efforts bring forth reasonable results we are not satisfied as we feel that these unfortunate children at risk can be given a better deal by providing by employing more and efficient teachers, and also by adding educational aids, providing materials for their use and learning . Quite unfortunately the support that we receive is sufficient only for food and some expenses towards education and we have to secure support for the rest.

The reason why we want to provide improved support in education is to help them secure more marks in the 10th and 12th Public exams and then to be guided to take up professional courses such as Engineering, Medicine, Nursing , and many other. We want to help them to write the IIT Joint entrance examinations also.

Since we lack financial resources to hire better tuition teachers and to purchase assistive educational materials we seek your support. We invite you to visit our homes and make an assessment of the needs and based on that you can provide us whatever that you can towards the required materials and or the finances for paying the tuition teachers. We are keen that we get some modern gadgets like a multimedia projector that can project files from Computers to the wall or screens to bring a new dimension to learning for the children. We seek your continued support for these children who do not have anyone. They are HIV positive, or Negative but with HIV parents, Dalit and tribal Children, Children of Commercial sex workers and so on.

We kindly request you to visit our residential child care homes to see for yourself the details.

Please extend your support and make the lives of these children to bloom.

    Thanking You

    Sincerely Yours

    President – ATSWA Trust
