In order for an entity to exist, it must have sustainable characteristics. Each track of WHEELS spawns projects that benefit the underserved on a long-term basis and by definition need to be sustainable over long periods of time. The sustainability track spans all tracks of WGF, and is dedicated to ensuring the application of sustainability principles to all projects facilitated by WGF (Wheels Global Foundation). The key element of sustainability as it applies to projects, is that the project should sustain itself financially and operationally over the long term.
The track promotes creativity and innovation by organizing business plan competitions and soliciting projects that are practical, affordable and applicable to large scale deployment. Among areas that are key to the sustainability track are:
- Homeland Security
- Cyber Security
- Disaster Relief
- Supply Chain
- Proven and simple
- Seed capital to kick-start initial deployment
- Payment model for on-going operations
- Availability of human and materials
Simple and affordable applications tend to create projects that have the potential to survive long-term trends in social and environmental issues such as political and pricing changes, leading to operational stability.
